Update: consistent names and labels in Lifter Elements 1.7.7

| henry

Lifter Elements 1.7.7 is a housekeeping release. It renames a few things, makes the control labels consistent across the widgets, and updates the versions of WordPress, PHP and Elementor the plugin declares. There are no new features and no changes to saved pages: the names in the editor panel change, and your pages keep working as they were.

The update is waiting under Dashboard > Updates if your license is active, or in Downloads on Tangible Cloud.

Two renames to look out for

The widget that used to be called Mark Complete Lesson is now Lesson Complete Button, and “Course outline” is now Course Outline. Two dynamic tags also changed name: Course URL is now Back to Course URL, which is what it always did, and Course Info is now Course Information. Pages that use them are not affected; only the names in the widget panel and the dynamic tag picker are different.

Labels that read the same everywhere

Control labels and dropdown options across the widgets and dynamic tags now use the same capitalisation. Switches read Show and Hide where they control whether something appears, and Yes and No where they change behaviour. Longer labels are shorter, with a description line beneath where one was needed, so the panel is easier to scan.

The render choice is now called Render on every widget that has one, with the same two options everywhere: Lifter Elements and LifterLMS. Course List, Course Progress, Lesson Complete Button, Lesson Navigation, Access Plan Button and Back to Course Button all had their own wording for this before.

A few widget-specific tidy-ups came along: Course List’s custom template rows are named by what they are (Title, Excerpt, Progress) instead of the stored value; Course Outline’s icon, icon colour and list-item tabs share one vocabulary, incomplete, hover and completed; the two text overrides on Course Reviews are now Reviews Heading and Review Submission Message; and Highlight Featured Plan on Course Access Plans is spelled correctly.

Requirements

The plugin now declares WordPress 6.8, PHP 7.4 and Elementor 3.5.0 as its minimums, and Elementor Pro 3.5.0 when Pro is active. Pro remains optional. An older Pro shows an admin warning rather than failing quietly.

Small fixes

An emptied Number of Columns field on User Achievements now falls back to the LifterLMS default. On the Login Form and User Dashboard, the custom redirect switch with an empty URL now falls back to the default redirect. On Groups List, the Button style section hides together with the Show Button switch.
