Update: a rebuilt Profile Edit Form in Beaver Profile Builder 0.2.0

| henry

Beaver Profile Builder 0.2.0 rebuilds the Profile Edit Form module from the inside, and adds a filter that lets developers add their own custom field types.

What changed

The Profile Edit Form’s code was restructured so each field is set up and saved the same way, which made room for more field types. Along the way:

  • The form now uses Beaver Builder’s own CSS classes, so it picks up your layout’s styling more predictably.
  • In the input styling settings, “Hover Border Color” is now “Focus Border Color”, which is what it controls.
  • Fields inside a row keep proper spacing on each side.

For developers: the bpb_custom_field_types filter

Custom fields in the Profile Edit Form connect a form input to any user meta key. The bpb_custom_field_types filter lets you add types to, or change, the list a site builder picks from in the field’s settings. The Developer Reference has the details and an example.
